DIY Natural Lip Peeling and Balm

Natural Lip Care

No matter the season, our lips, whose skin is thinner and more delicate than that on other parts of our body, need extra care to face the elements. Very cold or hot weather, drastic temperature change or dry air can quickly lead to dryness, peeling and chapped lips. This is why we suggest you include a natural and delicate lip treatment into your beauty routine to give then the special care they deserve.

Our DYI beauty recipes, a natural lip peeling and a delicate lip balm, will make chapped and cracked lips soft and kissable again in no time.

DYI Honey-Coco Lip Peeling

Beauty experts rely on lip exfoliators or lip peelings to gently remove flakes and dead skin. Most of them consist of three basic natural ingredients that everyone usually has in their homes: Sugar, honey and coconut oil.

Easy as that: Mix the three ingredients in a 3-2-1-ratio (3 tsp sugar, 2 tsp honey, 1 tsp coconut oil) in a small bowl. Apply small amount to your lips, using your finger in soft, circular movements for a few minutes and remove excess with a soft towel. Do this twice per week. If stored in the fridge, the lip scrub can last up to four weeks.

Step2: DYI Natural Bee Wax Lip balm

This lip balm with bee wax and shea butter is full of rich ingredients such as vitamins and unsaturated fatty acids. It nurses and protects the lips to make them soft and glossy.

What you need: 4 g bee wax, 10 g shea butter, 10 g coconut oil and ¼ of a vanilla bean. As well as little jars.

What you do: Melt the bee wax, shea butter and coconut oil together in a water-bath. Then add the vanilla for the taste and smell. Finally, fill the jars and let cool down completely.
